Hey everyone! 

My name is Ellie Namit (they/them); I’m a fourth-year Filipino-Canadian student from Fredericton, New Brunswick. I’m majoring in Sociology and Human Rights, minoring in Criminology and Gender Studies.

I’ve served as Chair of the Student Representative Council and am very excited to step into the role of President for 2024-25. This year I hope to work towards ensuring that post-secondary education is both accessible and welcoming to all STUdents.

Pearl A. Gyamfi (she/her)

Hello Everyone,

My name is Pearl A. Gyamfi ( she/her), and I am in my fourth year at STU! Majoring in criminology with a minor in Digital Media. As your Vice President of Administration, I am responsible for the finance and operations of the union! I am also responsible for all affairs of clubs and societies with the Vice President of Student Life! I sit as a chair of the Finance, Governance and Human Resources Committees. I am also the union representative together with the General Manager for your health and dental benefits with Campus Trust.

     As your VP Admin, I am the person you can come to if you want to start a new club or society or have an inquiry about the clubs and societies on campus. My mandate for the academic year in this new role is to strengthen the relationship between the union and students because it is run by us students for us students! I would really appreciate it if you came to me with all the questions and concerns you may have and are interested in joining any committee I chair!

Alberto Chavez (he/him)

Hello everyone!

My name is Alberto Chavez. I am an international student in my fourth year, majoring in Psychology, Digital Media, and Creative Arts with minors in Business and Economics (quite a combination). I am also delighted to be your Vice President of Student Life for the 2024-2025 academic period!

My role is to make this year memorable and full of memories, where you can meet people, develop your skills, and participate in what you will call home for quite a bit. As VPSL, I will do anything in my power to serve the STU community, provide top-notch services, and create meaningful initiatives to strengthen the STU community.

Ana Lucia Pavon (she/her)

Hello hello!

I’m Lucía Pavón, and I will be your Vice President of Education for this upcoming year! I am a third-year international student from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and I am double majoring in Criminology and Psychology ( a STU classic) with a minor in philosophy. 

 I am so excited for what this year will bring. As your VP of Education, my role is to represent STUdents’ voices both internally and externally. I connect with senior admin to let them know what issues students are and how they can help as well as connect with other unions to come up with campaign ideas to advocate on your behalf. I love STU, so one of my goals this year is for you to enjoy your time at university as much as I do.
