Tommy Award for Outstanding Contribution

Awarded annually to a member of the St. Thomas University community who has made a demonstrable commitment to improving quality of life for students at St. Thomas University.


Duncan Gallant Award of Achievement and Contribution

Awarded annually to a student who has consistently gone above and beyond their required responsibilities and has inspired action and confidence among their peers.


Dr. Daniel O’Brien Award

Awarded annually to a student in any academic year that has provided outstanding leadership and commitment to a campus club, society, or other organization not including the SRC.


Outstanding Committee Award

Awarded annually to a St. Thomas University committee that goes above and beyond in their dedication to student life.


International Student Leadership Award

The International Student Leadership Award is awarded annually to an international student who has demonstrated great commitment to making St. Thomas University a more inclusive space and has provided outstanding leadership as well as contribution to the STU international community.


Sister Elizabeth Leger Award

Awarded annually to a first-year student who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to student activities.


Veterans’ Memorial Award

Awarded annually to a second-year student who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to student activities.


Founders’ Award

Awarded annually to a third-year student who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to student activities.


Husoni Raymond Student Impact Award

Awarded annually to a fourth-year student who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to student activities


St. Thomas Student’s Union SRC Appreciation Award

Presented to an individual who has exhibited exceptional leadership and has made an outstanding contribution to the SRC.


T. Benjamin Graham Lifelong Member Award

Awarded to a graduating member of the SRC who demonstrates exceptional knowledge of the Students’ Union, a willingness to go above and beyond their job description and supports their team by being a voice of reason, dignity and respect.


Student Union Faculty Appreciation Award

The Student Union Faculty Appreciation Award recognizes a faculty member of the St. Thomas University community for their contributions to students, including their excellence in teaching and providing guidance.


Indigenous Student Leadership Award

The Indigenous Student Leadership Award is awarded annually to an Indigenous student who has demonstrated great commitment to making St. Thomas University a more inclusive space and has provided outstanding leadership as well as contribution to the STU Indigenous community.


Outstanding Student-led Organization Initiative of the Year

The Outstanding Student-led Organization Initiative of the Year award recognizes a student-led organization’s exceptional initiative that has made a meaningful impact within the academic year. This initiative could be an event, activity, or campaign. Eligible organizations include clubs, societies, and other student-led groups.

 

Nomination Process

  • Nominations must be sent to the Activities Coordinator at su_activities@stu.ca Deadline: APRIL 3rd.

  • Nomination must include a written statement clearly demonstrating the contributions the nominee has made to the STU and greater Fredericton communities while also outlining the students' leadership, character and personality, as well as why the nominee is best suited for the particular award.

    Please note that self-nominations will not be accepted.

  • The Ad-Hoc selection committee, comprised of the STUSU Activities Coordinator and any interested members of the Students' Union and the St. Thomas University community, will determine the recipient of each award.
