Recording Secretary
Terms of Employment: part-time, 5 hrs. per week, including 5:30-7:30 PM Thursdays.
Office: Vice President Administration
SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Recording Secretary keeps detailed minutes of all meetings of the Students’ Representative Council. The Secretary is responsible for accurately recording discussion and motions, presenting the minutes to Council, and making changes in a timely fashion. The Secretary also posts the minutes for students to access.
ESSENTIALS:
The Recording Secretary should be critically literate, capable of independent problem solving and decision-making, able to multi-task, with an attention to detail. Speed in typing, previous experience, and experience with Microsoft Word or other word processors will be considered advantageous.
OTHER DETAILS
The rate of pay for this position is $11.33/hour for a maximum of 5 hours/week. The Employer may consider an applicant with demonstrated abilities and experience in lieu of a Requirement.
Campaigns Coordinator
Terms of Employment: part-time, 10 hrs. per week
Office: Vice President Education
Skills and Responsibilities: The Campaigns Coordinator is responsible for aiding in the delivery of campaigns under the Vice President Education, and will be expected to engage with the student body to inform them on current issues in education, as well as help to gather concerns from students to better determine STUSU policy. The Campaigns Coordinator is also expected to sit ex officio on the External Action Committee.
Essentials: The Campaigns Coordinator must be outgoing, innovative and self-starting. They should also be flexible and willing to take direction. Some prior knowledge of Post-Secondary Education issues will be considered an asset.

Social Issues Coordinator

SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Social Issues Advocate shall work to develop a high sensitivity and awareness of social issues on campus regarding human rights, sexuality and sexual violence, sexual diversity, poverty, and racial discrimination. The SIA will also coordinate Meal Exchange programs on campus, including Trick or Eat, Skip a Meal, and Clear the Shelves, and organizes Sexuality Awareness Week.
ESSENTIALS: The Social Issues Advocate should be well-versed in subject areas, open-minded and approachable. Independent decision making and problem-solving, critical literacy, and organizational skills are a must. Previous experience in these fields will be considered advantageous.
