One of the main duties of the Students’ Union is to represent and promote the academic and social well-being of students. This includes representing students on the University Senate, where academic issues ranging from course selection to grading scales are discussed and voted on, as well as through the Union’s own University and Academic Affairs Committee, where students can help the Vice President Education and the Student Senators to act on a variety of academic issues. There are also three student members of the University’s Board of Governors: the President of the Students’ Union (ex-officio observer), and two elected members.
For any questions dealing with how the Students’ Union can help you academically, or, if you would like to get involved in representing the academic interests of students contact the Vice President Education at su_vped@stu.ca.
